Hire employees in Latin America without setting up entities. South's Employer of Record (EOR) handles compliance, payroll, and contracts.
An Employer of Record (EOR) is the legal employer for your team in another country. South hires your LATAM talent on our local entities, manages contracts, payroll, taxes, benefits, and compliance, while you direct the day-to-day work.
No local entity required: Hire in Latin America without setting up a company.
Fast, compliant hiring: Offer letters and locally compliant contracts in days.
Lower risk: We handle statutory benefits, taxes, and terminations correctly.
One monthly invoice: Predictable costs in USD; we manage FX and local payouts.
IP & confidentiality protected: Invention-assignment and IP clauses included.
On-the-ground HR support: Time-off, payslips, employee questions—handled.
The onboarding process will vary depending on the specific needs of the business and the country where the worker is being hired. South will handle all of the administrative tasks involved in onboarding a new employee.
Yes, there are three common paths:
Open a local entity: Full control but slower and costlier (setup, payroll, legal, ongoing filings). Best if you plan a larger, long-term presence.
Engage independent contractors: Works for some roles, but misclassification risk and potential tax exposure if not set up properl.
Use an EOR (South): Fastest and lowest-risk way to employ compliantly now, with a clean path to transition to your own entity later if you choose.
Define the role & offer: You set comp and title; we localize the package.
Compliant contracting: South becomes the legal employer and signs a local contract with the employee; you remain the operational manager.
Onboarding: We handle payroll setup, benefits enrollment, and required registrations.
Monthly operations: You approve payroll; South runs payslips, remits taxes and social contributions, and answers HR questions.
Changes & off boarding: Promotions, comp updates, and terminations are executed compliantly with proper notice and final pay.
You pay South in USD on a simple monthly invoice (base salary, employer costs, reimbursements, and our EOR fee).
We convert and disburse net pay in local currency on the local pay schedule, issue payslips, and withhold / remit all required taxes and social contributions.
Benefits & extras: Statutory benefits (and optional private benefits) are administered locally; approved expenses can be reimbursed through payroll.
Full transparency: You get a detailed breakdown each month and employees receive compliant, country-specific documentation.
South is not a law firm or tax advisor; we implement local compliance and recommend you consult counsel for company-specific advice.
